Save the Date: Kulvir and Bal

The Story:

Kulvir moved to Calgary from Winnipeg in November 2008 with a childhood friend to add some adventure to her life.  A few short months later, Bal made an impromptu, last minute decision to make a stopover in Calgary for a few days on the way back to BC from a trip with his employer at the time. Kulvir was shopping (as usual) and Bal saw her across the shopping center. He came up to her, flashed his famous dimple smile, and asked for her number. At first she gave him a bit of a hard time but eventually, being unlike herself, she gave it to him. They spoke daily over the phone and on-line, and saw each other monthly until they decided that it would be best to see if the relationship would do just as well if they were actually living in the same city. In October, Bal moved to Calgary and began working. It didn’t take long to realize that they couldn’t picture themselves with another. Their engagement ceremony was held in Surrey, BC on July 31, 2010.

The Ring:

Bal purchased the ring from Hanif at Crest Jewllers in Vancouver. It is a princess cut solitaire and what Kulvir had always wanted. The setting was chosen together.
