From Start to Finish #15

In grade eleven, he was the boy who had a locker beside me, who wore the same red flannel shirt all the time, and asked me how I was doing every single morning. I remember thinking that he was one of the most genuine people that I'd ever met.

In grade twelve, we were on student council together and he started crushing on me while we worked together on the Christmas talent show...I was completely oblivious to his efforts though, because he was texting my cell phone without the area code- meaning I didn't get a single one of his messages. Over time, his random acts of kindness and protectiveness over me caught my eye and we became great friends...and from there we fell in love.

I'll never forget our first date. After seeing "Up" in theaters, he made me close my eyes as he drove me to Marble Slab. He bought me the biggest ice cream and then brought me to St Vital Park, where we indulged on our desserts by the duck pond. Later at his house, I fell asleep beside him while watching TV. He ended up carrying me to the car to make sure I got home before my curfew. Ah, high school love.
